$2 Billion Development Could Be Seen In Downtown Los Angeles

A mix of housing, office space, and more could be seen in Downtown Los Angeles. The project proposal includes replacing the existing cold storage facility with a new mixed-use facility consisting of ten buildings ranging from two to forty-two stories in height.
Denver-based developer, Continuum Partners, is developing this project in an industrial area at the neighborhood’s border with Little Tokyo and Skid Row. The architecture firm, Studio One Eleven, is developing the master plan.

Modular Apartments Proposed For 121 West 3rd Street, Downtown Los Angeles

An application has been submitted to the Los Angeles Planning Commission, proposing the development of a new apartment complex at 121 West 3rd Street, Downtown Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a fifteen-story apartment building with modular apartments replacing an on-site parking lot. The development requires the approval of Density Bonus Incentives to permit increased height and floor area, as well as a reduction in required automobile parking.
Los Angeles-based firm, Relevant Group, is the project developer. Gensler is managing the design concept and construction.

Groundwork is underway for the “AVA Arts District” project at 1540 East Industrial Street in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles. The project is being developed by Avalonbay Communities, which has rentals in many cities throughout Northern and Southern California, and in 11 other states, the closest one to the current site is ACA Little Tokyo.
