A new affordable housing project has been planned for development at 639 Commonwealth Avenue in Koreatown, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the redevelopment of Wilshire Town House, a hotel turned affordable housing complex. The project will allow the Wilshire Town House to undergo a seismic retrofit. 639 Commonwealth L.P., the Koreatown-based entity owns the property. Lahmon Architects is responsible for the design concepts.

Another residential project is taking shape and form at 1759 Gower Street in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of 28 apartments. An early 20th century building most recently inhabited by a church has made way for an infill apartment complex with a vintage look. Bar 216, LLC is the project applicant and project developer. Kamran Tabrizi Architect & Associates is responsible for the design concepts.

Work Progressing on LAMP at LAX

Work is progressing on LAMP (Landslide Access Modernization Program) at LAX. The Consolidated Rent-A-Car (ConRAC) facility is wrapping up on the structural concrete pouring phase. When completed, 6.4-million-square-foot complex will have space for 18,000 vehicles, making it the largest parking structure in the world.

The Automated People Mover (AMP) is now over 87 percent complete at Los Angeles International Airport. A major milestone was recently reached when the segment over Century Boulevard, one of the busiest streets in the city, was installed over the course of four months. The improvement will make progress more recognizable, and change the skyline of the superstructure.
