Office, Retail, Residences Proposed At 8787 Venice Boulevard, Mid-City, Los Angeles

A new mixed-use project has been proposed for development at 8787 Venice Boulevard in Mid-City, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of two six-story buildings offering retail, office, and residential spaces. Walter N. Marks, Inc is the project developer. The developer purchased the Helms Bakery in the early 1970s. Aleks Istanbullu Architects and AC Martin are the project architects.

K Line Opens through West Adams, Inglewood, and Westchester

Los Angeles Metro Rail has announced the opening of the highly anticipated K Line. The route adds seven new stops, and will eventually connect Metro Line E, which travels between Downtown and Santa Monica, to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The light rail line currently serves the communities of West Adams, Jefferson Park, Baldwin Hills, Leimert Park, Hyde Park, Inglewood, and Westchester. The official metro website states that “The K Line was designed and built with the help of community input and local voices to provide a faster, more convenient and reliable way to connect to jobs, schools and the rich cultural places throughout these communities.”
