A mixed use development has been approved for 299 East Main Street, in Ventura. Real Investments is the developer behind the project, which, according to their website, is pending sale. The development will bring 24 new units, including four set aside for low-income housing, and 3,900 square feet of commercial space to the only empty lot on the Downtown Core Main Street. It has been titled “Anacapa Courts.”

The site is currently a 386,500 square foot office building that was approved in the late 70’s as headquarters for Prudential Insurance Company. The current owner, Kennedy Wilson, proposes splitting the 43 acre property into two lots, a 34 acre lot with another at 9 acres.
