World’s Largest Wildlife Crossing Set to Break Ground in Agoura Hills

The world’s largest wildlife crossing is set to break ground on Earth Day, April 22 of this year, in Agoura Hills. The project aims to protect big cats, coyotes, deer, lizards, snakes and other animals as they cross into the Santa Monica Mountains, giving them better access to food and potential mates. Mountain lions, in particular, were a major motivator for the crossing, as their genetic diversity continues to decline. The effort has been in the works for over a decade.

A new residential project is proposed at 2632 South Monmouth Avenue in Unviersity Park, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of two duplex houses, slated to replace an aspahlt parking lot on the site. Hoover Street Holdings, a Los Angeles-based entity linked to the Las Vegas company Triangle Trading, Ltd, is the property owner. Los Angeles-based architect Michael Nigosian is designing the duplexes.

The project proposal includes the development of a five-story senior affordable housing complex. The $35-million development is being built as a joint venture between Domus, Skid Row Housing Trust, and Affordable Housing CDC. KFA Architecture is designing the project.
