Four years after announcing plans to redevelop the former site of a nursery with condominiums, the project is moving forward. Pacific Plaza Premier Development Group is the project developer. Los Angeles Planning Commission Approves Women’s Center Expansion In Downtown

Los Angeles City Planning Commission has approved plans from the Downtown Women’s Center at 501 East 5th Street to expand its campus onto a neighboring parking lot at 5th Street and San Pedro Street in Skid Row. Daylight Community Development and GTM Holdings have partnered to develop the project. Gensler is designing the Downtown Women’s Center expansion, with KFA Architecture serving as the architect of record.

The project, previously titled Northbank Ventura, by developers Ravello Holdings and Devco, has been renamed to “The Willows.” The project will bring housing and commercial space to a long empty 8.03 acre parcel near the 101 freeway.

Work is over 70 percent complete on the Automated People Mover (APM) guideway at Los Angeles International Airport. Currently, the connection from the guideway over Century Boulevard is underway. The only additional sections to be connected are over Sepulveda Boulevard and between the Center and West Central Terminal Area.
