The project will replace a post office and a Coco’s restaurant on the site. 3MR Capital and The John Buck Company are the project developers. Culver City-based wHY Architecture is responsible for the design concepts, while AO serves as its architect of record.

8th & Figueroa continues to rise at 732 South Figueroa Street, in the Financial District. Mitsui Fudosan America is behind the project, which was previously one of the few open air, at grade parking lots in the area. When completed, the project will reach 42 stories tall.

The project has been titled “The Grand LA,” but the residential tower is specifically named “The Grand by Gehry,” after Frank Gehry, the renowned architect behind the project. The long anticipated, double towers, are situated directly across the street from the Disney Concert Hall, which Gehry also designed.
