The Point Mugu Naval Base Ventura County will hold a groundbreaking ceremony today, July 27, for its $53 million Coast Guard Air Station. The project proposal includes the development of the new air station in Southern California. Woolpert is responsible for the design concepts and construction. Woolpert is the premier architecture, engineering, geospatial (AEG), and strategic consulting firm.
Exterior work is wrapping up at 924 South Catalina Street, in Koreatown. The project will bring denser housing, as well as a few low income housing units to the area, as part of the Transit Oriented Communities program. 924 Catalina LLC is listed as the developer.
A new townhome development has been proposed for a site at 13615-13633 South Vermont Avenue, Gardena, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes redeveloping a nursery into a townhome community. Irvine-based Melia Homes is the project developer. San Diego-based firm Summa Architecture is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
5850 West Jefferson Boulevard has been approved by the city, and is expected to break ground this year in Baldwin Hills. Samitaur is the development firm behind the building. The team is also behind (W)rapper, currently under construction a short distance away, in the rapidly developing neighborhood.
A new apartment complex broke ground at 127 East Broadway in Downtown Long Beach. The project proposal includes the development of a surface parking lot into a mixed-use apartment complex with retail space. Alliance Residential is developing the project. Studio T-Square 2 is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
